Snow shoeing. These events translate to saucers, snowshoes,
roasting marshmallows, zip lines and much more. A hot lunch is
served in our winterized dining hall. Cubs receive a winter
segment and the Pack receives a ribbon.
The cost is $10.00 per adult and $15 per youth. Fathers,
mothers, siblings and potential Cub Scouts are invited. Children
must be 5 years of age or older to attend, however. No dogs

Prepared:
-
HAVE FUN
-
It is required that bike helmets be
worn on all saucer runs!!
-
Earn a winter segment
-
The hike into camp is about 1/2 mile
(30 minutes each way).
-
We recommend you bring bicycle helmets
to be worn on saucer runs.
-
Minimum of one adult for every five
youth attending. We must provide the adult supervision.
-
Do not bring small items unless they
are attached to a belt loop or pack. That includes keys.
If anything small is dropped in the snow, it may not be found until
spring!
-
All the events are designed for Cub
Scouts and families.
Sledding:
For safety, sledding will only be allowed on designated
runs. Please leave your sleds and saucers at home.
Snowcapades will provide the saucers. Again, we require bike helmets be worn on all saucer runs.
Have a State of Oregon Sno-Park Permit.
These can be obtained for a small fee at the Council Service Center,
most sporting goods stores or the DMV. Parking will be at the
Summit Parking Lot which is 2.5 miles west of camp on Highway 140
(milepost 32.5).
A shuttle bus will take everyone to and from the camp entrance.
Then there is a 30 minute walk, over snow, to the camp.
Keep everyone dry and hydrated. You don't want
them cold, cranky and, if dehydrated, with a headache.
Snowcapades is a lot of fun. |
