Popcorn Sales

2008 Popcorn Sales for
Pack 100

 

Important Dates:

• Start selling – right now
• Must turn in Popcorn Order at the October 23^th Pack Meeting (6:45 pm).  I can’t take any orders after that date!!!  I need to have your prize selection, too.
• Pick up your Popcorn on Saturday, November 15^th, after Scouting For Food. ( Hoover – Scouting for Food starts at 1:30 pm… when we get back with the food the popcorn will be distributed.)
• Distribute your popcorn and bring your money to your Den Leader or to Hoover at 7:30 pm on December 2nd.  I must have it all by December 2nd... no later.

 

Sales Dos and Don’ts:

• Wear your uniform when you are selling!!!
• Never sell without an adult along
• NEVER, EVER go into a house even if you know the people.
• Checks must be made out to Pack 100 (or Cub Scout Pack 100).  We must pay the council from our account.

 

Your Pack 100 Account:

• Pack 100 gets a 30% commission on each sale and the Cub is credited with the commission.
• The first $81 in commission (on $270 in sales) pays the Cub’s basic Pack expenses for his rocket, Pinewood Derby car, T-shirt, Awards, Blue and Gold Dinner, etc.
• If a Cub does not sell $270 in popcorn, he must make up the difference in the $81 commission to the Pack.  That difference will be due on the day orders are turned in (October 25^th).
• The Cub’s commission above $81 will be credited to his account and may be used for any Scouting related item such as: Snowcapades, Summer Camp, uniforms, camping gear or anything else directly related to Scouting.  (The money can not be given to the Cub because this is a charity, fund raising event.)

 

Prizes:

• In addition to the Cub’s account, he will earn prizes.
• If you were a member last year you should have received a prize brochure in the mail.
• We have brochures for new Cubs tonight.
• You should check out the prizes now to see what you want to shoot for.
• You may divide your sales between the various prize categories, for instance…
• If you sell $450 in Popcorn,
• You may select one prize from the $300 level 5 and one prize from the $150 level 3… or…
• You may select 3 prizes from the $150 level 3
• It’s up to the Cub.
• You will also receive a segment to go on your uniform and either a Patch or pin for your “brag vest”.
