Popcorn orders along with money collected is due at the October 27th Pack Meeting!  Online orders through Oct 28th count towards prizes.

  • Popcorn may only be sold by registered Scouts.
  • Collect the payment when you sell (not when you distribute).
  • Provide the customer with a receipt of payment:
    • You will give the customer a receipt (Pack will provide receipt pads) with the Pack contact information for the customer and a notice that there are no returns.
    • You will write your first name on the receipt.
    • Record what the customer ordered and paid for as well as the amount of the payment received and whether it was cash or a check.
  • Cub Scout popcorn commission (25% of sales) goes to the Scout’s account.
    • The account may be used for Pack events and activities.
    • The money can not be given to the Cub because this is a charity, fund raising event.
    • If a Scout drops out, the account money reverts to the Pack.

Donations to the Pack will be split 50-50 between the Scout's account and the Pack.

Important Dates:

  • Start selling now.
    • Online sales can begin at anytime.
  • You must turn in your Popcorn Order along with full payment at or before the October 27th Pack Meeting (6:45 pm).  We can’t take any orders after that date!!!
  • Pick up your Popcorn on Saturday, November 19th, after Scouting for Food.  Since you turned in payment with your order, you only need to distribute what you have sold!!!

Pack Dues:

  • Pack dues is $125.  There is a $17 discount if you sell more than $275 in popcorn by October 27th (Show & Sell, Take order or online)
  • Dues must be paid by November 30, 2010, for the 2012 Pack year because the Pack recharters in early December and must pay registration fees at that time.  (Dues can be paid from the Scout’s popcorn account.)

Sales Dos and Don’ts:

  • Wear your uniform when you are selling!!!
  • Never sell without an adult along
  • NEVER, EVER go into a house even if you know the people.
  • Checks must be made out to Pack 100 (or Cub Scout Pack 100).  We must pay the council from our account.

Popcorn Prizes:

  • In addition to the Cub’s commission, he will earn a gift card.  (note: online sales before October 28th go toward prizes and all online sales go toward commission.)
  • Check out what gift card you'd like to shoot for at Walmart.  e.g. if you find a $29.95 Wii game, shoot for a $30 gift card.
  • If you sell $600 or more you will get, in addition to other prizes, a Zyclone.
  • You will also receive a segment to go on your uniform and either a Patch or pin for your “brag vest”.

Online Ordering:

On the new trails-end.com, each Scout will self-register and create his Scout ID.  Here are steps to create a Scout account to sell online:

1. Go to www.trails-end.com
2. Click Scouts at the bottom of the page and then click on Create An Account (in the upper right-hand corner)
3. Under Create A New Account, fill in the required fields.  (We are Pack 3100.  That is actually our official Pack number with BSA).

Our Scouts will need their parent’s permission.  Once registration is complete, a seven digit Scout ID is automatically generated – this Scout ID will be listed in the upper right-hand corner when a Scout is signed in under his account.  This Scout ID is what family and friends will use on trails-end.com to support a Scout and purchase Popcorn.  Remember that orders before October 28th will count toward your prize level.
